What we offer

Food and cooking

We can provide and prepare delicious meals for a small additional fee. Cooking facilities are available in the mountain huts, and the mountain water is safe to drink.

Equipment

Sleeping bags can be provided, and we’ll handle carrying your bags up the mountain.

Hut bookings

We can arrange hut reservations on your behalf, allowing you to focus entirely on the climb. Hut fees are K1,000 per person per night, payable to Likhubula Forest Tourism, and we can manage the payment for you.



Comfortable huts

The huts are well-equipped with beds, mattresses, and furniture, and you’ll find no mosquitoes on the plateau.

Hiking packages

We cater to groups of all sizes and can organise special flora and fauna trips. Below are examples of our most popular trips, but we can customise experiences, from multi-day hikes to summiting Sapitwa in just one day. If you'd like something unique, please get in touch.

Full service package

Includes transportation to and from the airport, guiding services, food, and more.


Day tour example:

  • Start at Likhubula, ascend via the Skyline Path, enjoy the viewpoints, and visit Chambe Hut (3-4 hours).

  • Descend via Chapaluka Path, stopping at the dam and waterfalls for swimming and photos.


Cost: $75 per person, including lunch.

Self-guided package

You arrange your own transportation and pay:


  • Government fee: $5 per person per day

  • Guide fee: $25 per person per day

  • Porter fee: $20 per person per day

  • Cook: $25 per day


You’ll also need to bring or buy your own food.

Three-day hike example

Route:

  • Day 1: Start on the Likulezi Path via Thuchila Hut (jungle route, 4-5 hours).

  • Day 2: Hike to Sapitwa (the highest point on Mount Mulanje) and stay at Chisepo Hut.

  • Day 3: Descend via Likhubula Chapaluka Path, stopping at waterfalls and viewpoints.


Cost: $350 for two people (2 nights, 3 days). Includes food, guide, porter, cook, government fees, and sleeping bags.

All huts are equipped with beds and mattresses, making your stay comfortable.
